Who is Amuro Namie?
Born in Okinawa, Japan in 1977, Amuro Namie was born into a family of four siblings. When she was twelve years old, Amuro’s musical ability was discovered when she was visiting her friend. She was scouted by an actors school and was soon placed in an idol group called “Super Monkey’s”. Although the group did not gain much success as a whole, Amuro individually gained popularity as an upcoming actress and fashion model. After the group split ways after their successful single “Try Me (Watashi wo Shinjite)”, Amuro signed individually to the music label Avex Trax and the rest is history.
