DIR EN GREY is composed of five dynamic individuals: Kyo (vocals), Kaoru (guitar), Die (guitar), Toshiya (bass), and Shinya (drums). They started out as a visual kei band, in which they dazzled music buffs with their flamboyant and quirky looks. Since 2005, they have mellowed down in regards to their outlandish looks, but their passion for music remains as fervent as ever. Proving their versatility, they have composed their music in a wide variety of styles that range from progressive metal to nu metal and even death metal.
