Afternoon Tea is one of the Kawaii shops in Tokyo. It is known for delicately colored, subtly feminine styles— and if that is what you are looking for then you’ll find it here! But today, my top picks consist of Kawaii items that will literally have your friends saying “Where did you get that?”. Adorable, convenient, ingenious items that you need to get in the cart 5 minutes ago already!
1. Delicate Flower iPhone case for 6s/6/7/8
The kawaii and unique iPhone cases are found in Japan! This particular design is one of my favorites. With delicate pink or blue flowers, hand strap, magnetic clasp and space for your debit and ID cards, it’s the only thing you need for a night out!
2. Kawaii Accessory Box
This is one of those kawaii items that make you think that Japanese designers truly have thought of everything! I don’t know how many times I have travelled and had to wrap my necklaces around an random piece of cardboard and put them in a plastic bag! No more! This adorable lemon themed accessory box is already on it’s way to my mailbox. 3. Compact Hot Plate (with “takoyaki” plate)
Have you every heard of “Takoyaki”. Literally, it means “octopus balls” which are a famous dish in Japan made with a batter, chunks of octopus and lots of savory toppings. If that sounds good to you, how about testing out your cooking skills with this Compact Hot Plate? This adorable 3 tiered/colored Bento Box is so darling it’ll inspire you to go on an adventure as soon as it’s in your hands. There are four equal squares on the bottom level (inside the larger square) that are self contained, removable and perfect for fruit and other small items. The middle and top tiers have a horizontal/diagonal dividers that great for sandwiches or salads OR can be removed to create room for larger portions. This oh-so-girly lace covered bag is more than just a kawaii pouch! Afternoon Tea was always one of my favorite kawaii shop when I lived in Japan. I used to miss shopping there for my girlfriends (and for myself), because I always found the perfect gifts.
