IXY Series
The IXY series, is a series of ultra compact digital cameras released by Canon, which is mainly targeted at consumers who just want to take photos without any hassle. This was very popular among consumers who just want to do a point-and-shoot, and also for consumers who just wanted to try out on photography. The recent models are pretty good, and though they lose out to the single lens camera, the quality of the pictures taken are still pretty good.
EOS Mirrorless Series
The mirrorless series is actually a DSLR, but just that as compared to the normal DSLR, it is way much lighter, and this is definitely good for entry level users who want more than just a point-and-shoot camera as this camera is pretty much on par with a normal DSLR. Furthermore, the lens for this camera is interchangeable, so this is definitely a good start for people who want to try something more different than a point-and-shoot camera.
Powershot Series
The Powershot series is a line of consumer and prosumer grade digital cameras launched in 1986, where the branding of this series was successful, and it is currently one of the best selling digital camera lines in the world. This is definitely a recommendation to those who are starting out in the entry level, and yet want some certain functions of a DSLR. Though it may seem a little big bulkier as compared to the IXUS series, it is definitely smaller than the normal EOS DSLR series.
Powershot G Series
The Powershot G Series, is a series that are mainly aimed at photography enthusiasts desiring more flexibility than a point-and-shoot without the bulk of a DSLR, and the lens has a wider maximum aperture as compared to the standard Powershot models. So, if you’re looking for something like this, then I would recommend you this!
EOS Professional Series
This is a series that are mainly for prosumers, which has a professional grade 30.1 megapixel full frame DSLR made by Canon. This is one of the well known professional cameras, and you can find them used by photographers. Though it is expensive, but the quality is definitely worth it.
