Kenshi Yonezu is a Japanese musician, who first gained popularity under the name Hachi as a Vocaloid producer on the Japanese online video-sharing site Nico Nico Douga. In 2012 he debuted under his real name and released his first album independently and made his major label debut in 2014 with Yankee.

First Album – Diorama
In year 2012, Kenshi Yonezu released his first Album under the name ‘Hachi’ as a Vocaloid producer on Japanese online video-sharing site Nico Nico Douga, during the time, he already received more than 20 million total views on the songs he’s posted online, being one of the most popular Vocaloid creators. In addition to supplying all the producing, Kenshi Yonezu also drawn the artwork himself.
Second Album – Yankee
After releasing many famous songs as the Vocaloid producer “Hachi,” Kenshi Yonezu decides to cut out a new world of his own singing by his real name, he is releasing his second album YANKEE on April 23rd 2014. With his outstanding songwriting ability, there are stronger gestures of desire for communication in his lyrics in this album, giving the it a new touch of outward openness.
Third Album – Bremen
Bremen contains a total of 14 songs, including the singles ‘Flowerwall’ and ‘Unbelievers’, and a song played solo on his regular TwitCast, Mirage Song. The album comes in few different editions, which is similarly to his second album YANKEE. The art book Edition contains 22 pieces of large-format cards drawn by Kenshi Yonezu himself, while the DVD Edition contains 3 music videos.
Forth Album – Bootleg
His forthcoming album Bootleg made a smashing success in Japan. He’s been on the rise for the last few years, but 2017 has felt like Kenshi Yonezu being firmly established as a central voice in a new generation of Japanese pop music, along with the active rhythms it also comes the track “LOSER”, which features his first ever song which he dances. Other songs on the album include “orion”, which is the ending theme song for TV anime “March Comes in like a Lion”.
Latest Single – Lemon
Lemon, his latest single, was written as the theme song for the Japanese drama Unnatural. In the first week of Lemon’s release, the track reached number 1 for daily rankings across 21 digital music websites including iTunes and Recochoku(Japanese music distribution site), and stayed firmly at number one spot for 5 weeks. And Lemon has also topped at YouTube song ranking for two consecutive weeks, demonstrating its growing popularity outside of Japan.
