In the remote times of 1986, there was a need to protect the goddess Athena from evil, this was obviously no ordinary or small feat, it took great strength both mental and physical, intelligence, and a “je ne sais quoi”, an inner strength known as “Cosmos”, and naturally, as it usually occurs in anime and manga, only a select group of teenagers possessed that set of abilities. Thus Saint Seiya was born, to make full generations of children ( and some grown ups too!) wish they also had the power of the zodiac.

Initially it was published in January of 1986 in manga format in the magazine Shūkan Shōnen Jump. It was so successful that it got an adaptation in a series of 114 episodes. Also OVA episodes with 31 total episodes. But that wasn’t enough for the fans, later six films and several continuations of the original manga were produced, which has made Saint Seiya relevant up to this day.

A true Saga
Starred (pun intended) by a group o young warriors called Saints, they fight to protect the Greek goddess Athena from the forces of evil. To fight, the Saints only use their inner energy (called Cosmos), their fists and armor that serve as protection and that are also inspired by constellations or beings from Greek and Scandinavian mythology, which of course matches their personality traits, because the saints are cool like that.
